About This Class

Most of the dance you see in the commercial world (TV and pop videos) and West-End musicals has its roots in Modern Dance. Jazz is a form of Modern Dance. At First Stage we offer free classes in Jazz focusing on kicks, leaps and turns. These classes also help build power, strength and flexibility. Every couple of weeks the students learn a short routine in a variety of different Jazz styles from technical jazz to musical theatre to lyrical. First Stage teaches Jazz in 4 separate classes. Mini Jazz, Junior Jazz, Inter Jazz and Senior Jazz. Please check our latest timetable for times of classes. ​Please see Tammy in our onsite shop, First Gear, for the correct First Stage uniform for Jazz. Grooming is very important and hair should be worn in a neat bun for all classes where possible.
