About This Class

These classes provide students with invaluable experience for auditions and the stage. They promote teamwork, creativity, confidence and listening skills, whilst being great fun. Vocal coaching classes are conducted in groups. The aim is to develop confidence and improve the singing voice. Students have the opportunity for solo singing as well as learning to harmonise as part of a group and can be entered for LAMDA Musical theatre exams. Group singing classes for the over 7 years take place on a Wednesday Evening and are split between Junior, Inter and Senior age groups. Private vocal coaching lessons are also available at First Stage. In addition to Musical Theatre songs, various other styles of music are introduced in these classes (pop, commercial and classical for example). All students have the opportunity to perform on stage in our main show, awards presentation and at other events. Our festival team also compete very successfully, in numerous Musical Theatre routines and vocal categories across the midlands.
