Stretch and Limbering
Stretch and limbering classes are intended to help with general flexibility
and strength. Knowledgeable stretching is known to prevent injuries or pain
and improve dance performance.
Our classes start with a cardio warm up and then combine various exercises
taught to increase suppleness, stamina and build core strength and control
required for all disciplines of dance.
Techniques include partner assisted stretching, use of ballet barres, stretch bands, yoga
blocks, stretch bars, foot stretchers and weights. First Stage have fully qualified Acrobatics
Arts Teachers and the stretch and strengthening elements of this syllabus are also taught
in our stretch classes.
Please check timetables for latest class times. We have 4 stretch classes during the week at
our studios, Mini, Junior, Inter and Senior. Our Inter and Senior classes are also combined with
Body Conditioning.
